Presentation Guidelines

All numerical requirements shown as “TBC” must be approved by the Technical Program Committee before publication.

Oral presentation

Speaker preparation

1. Use the official template

Download the ECWC17 slide template when available and retain the event branding on the title and closing slides.

2. Plan the session timing

Presentation duration and question period: TBC. Build sufficient time for technical discussion.

3. Prepare a local backup

Bring the final presentation on a USB drive and keep a PDF backup. Embedded video should also be stored locally.

Recommended slide structure

1. Title and affiliation
Paper title, authors, organization and country.
2. Problem and objective
Clearly define the technical or strategic issue.
3. Method or approach
Explain process, experiment, model or case context.
4. Results and implications
Present evidence, limitations and practical relevance.
5. Conclusion
Summarize the contribution and key takeaways.

Poster presentation

Poster format

Poster size and orientation: TBC
 
✓ Use a large, readable title and clear section hierarchy.
✓ Prioritize diagrams, images, data and concise explanatory text.
✓ Include author names, affiliations and contact information.
✓ Attend the designated poster session and remove the poster after the stated period.

Technical quality

Presentation standards

Presenters are responsible for ensuring that all content is accurate, original, properly attributed and suitable for an international professional audience.

 
✓ Avoid commercial sales pitches in technical sessions.
✓ Cite third-party figures, photographs and data.
✓ Use SI units and define abbreviations on first use.
✓ Ensure charts remain legible from the back of the room.
✓ Disclose relevant conflicts of interest where applicable.
